The Annual General Meeting of the Union was
recently held at the Henllys G C, Beaumaris. Delegates representing
all the clubs on the island re elected all the officials to serve for
the coming year.
H Neville Pritchard of the Bull Bay G C will
serve the second year of his two year term of Presidency and Adam
Williams of the Henllys club will continue as County team Captain.
Randall Richards, also from of Henllys club, continues as junior
organiser.
Ian Furlong and Gareth Jones, both from the
Bull Bay G C, continue as treasurer and secretary respectively.
After nearly a quarter of a century Billy
Davies of the Holyhead G C retired as Rawlinson Shield organiser and
he was presented with a suitably engraved tankard to commemorate the
event. Henllys G C's John Davies will undertake duties relating to the
Rawlinson shield for the coming season.
The Union agreed to take on responsibility
for the organisation of the popular inter club team competition for
the Dr Lowe Shield - the opening round is listed for the Baron Hill G
C on Saturday, April 13th.
Following the meeting delegates enjoyed an
excellent meal provided by the Henllys G C's catering team and Mike
Bryant (St Deiniol G C) President elect of G U W addressed the
gathering. |
