Bull Bay G C hosted the second round of the 2023 inter club team competition for the Dr Lowe Shield.

The best individual nett score was returned by Gethin Morgan of the Baron Hill G C with a score of 75 - 7 - 68.

The second round of this year's inter club Seniors team competition was recently played at the Holyhead G C.

Holders Lead After Opening Round

2022 winners Holyhead G C lead after the opening round of this year's Dr Lowe inter club competition.

Team scores after the opening round played at the Anglesey G C Rhosneigr were:

The best individual score was returned by Holyhead G C's Huw Watkins with a score of 79 - 14 - 65 with Anglesey G C's Kieran Robinson recording the best gross score of 73.

The second round of the competition will be played at the Bull Bay G C on Sunday May 14th.

County Match Play Championship

Defending champion Sion Thomas of the Bull Bay G C has the advantage of a home draw in the opening round of this year's championship - Thomas will face Holyhead G C 's Aled Williams.

Rawlinson Shield Round One

The opening round of this year's Inter club Seniors team championship was played at the Anglesey G C Rhosneigr last Thursday, April 6th.

Team scores for the day (best seven out of eight nominated players counting) were:
Baron Hill G C 191
Henllys Hall G C 189
Bull Bay G C 183
Holyhead G C 176
Anglesey G C 175
Storws Wen G C 174

The best individual score of 37 points was returned by T Smith (9) of Henllys GC with fellow Henllys member G Charker (13) runner up with 35 points beating Baron Hill G C's Myrddin Roberts (16) on a better back nine play off.

The second round of the competition is listed for Holyhead G C on Thursday May 11th.

2023 season starts ............................ soon

At the recently held Annual General Meeting of the Union held at Bull Bay G C long standing Union secretary Gareth Jones of the Bull Bay club relinquished the post after well over forty years in post ................. the new secretary is Andy Wainwright of the Storws Wen G C.

Berwyn Owen of the Anglesey G C continues as President with fellow club member Marc Jones as County Captain. Henllys Hall G C's John Davies continues as treasurer with Randall Richards of the Baron Hill G C undertaking responsibility for junior activities.

The 2023 season starts on Thursday April 6th with Anglesey G C Rhosneigr hosting the opening round of the inter club Championship for the Rawlinson Shield won in 2022 by Henllys G C.

The following Saturday, April 15th, the Rhosneigr club stages the opening round of the Dr Lowe Shield won last year by the Holyhead G C.

Details of both competitions have already been circulated to member clubs.

Clubs have also been notified of details regarding the County Match Play Championship which was won in 2022 by Bull Bay G C's Sion Thomas.

Price is County Seniors Champion

Dave Price of the Holyhead G C is the new County Seniors Champion.

Seventy five Senior members of affiliated clubs played in the 18 hole medal competition played at the Holyhead club and Price scored 76 - 12 - 64 to capture the trophy.

The final round of the Dr Lowe Shield was played at the Anglesey G C Rhosneigr.

Gareth Hughes from the Anglesey G C recorded the best nett score with a round of 69 - 6 - 63 and Holyhead G C's Aled Williams returned the best gross score of 73.

Anglesey G C Rhosneigr hosted the sixth and final round of this year's inter club competition for the Seniors Rawlinson Shield. The best individual score was returned by Henllys G C' s G Charker who recorded 41 points, Andy Heritage of the Anglesey G C was the runner up with 37 points.
