The Annual General Meeting of the Union was recently
held at the Anglesey Golf Club, Rhosneigr. At a well attended
gathering Union officials for the coming season were elected. Retiring
President John Davies of the Henllys Golf Club Beaumaris having
completed his two year of office, is succeeded in office by Neville
Pritchard of the Bull Bay G C. The new President is a past President
and Captain of his home club.
After four years in post Ian Norgain (Bull Bay G C)
retired as County Captain and is replaced by Henllys G C, Beaumaris'
Other officials were re elected en bloc - Bull Bay G
C's Ian Furlong continues as treasurer and fellow club member Gareth
Jones remains in post as secretary. Junior Organiser, Randall Richards
(Henllys G C) continues as junior organiser and Holyhead G C 's Billy
Davies will continue as Rawlinson Shield organiser.
Following the A G M delegates sat down for the Annual
Dinner at which Caernarfonshire and District President Nigel Hughes of
Porthmadog G C addressed those present.

The A G M of the Union will be held at the Anglesey G
C Rhosneigr next Friday, January 19th - starting at 7:00pm.
The meeting will be followed by the Annual Dinner.

The fixture list for the second half of the
winter scratch league has been released - details of dates, venues
etc. of matches to be played can be seen in the document below.
| Opening Matches Completed
The opening two matches in the County Winter
scratch league have been played - Anglesey G C, Rhosneigr and Holyhead
G C being victorious.

Playing at Rhosneigr, Anglesey G C beat Henllys G C by
3.5 to 1.5 in the opening match of the 2017-18 County Winter scratch
The other match listed between
Holyhead G C and Bull Bay G C was postponed and is now due to be
played on Sunday, November 26th.
| Anglesey Winter Scratch League
Four of the island clubs will compete over
the next few months in a Winter Scratch league. Each of the competing
clubs will field a team of five players playing off scratch with
matches played on a home and away basis.

| Holyhead Club Captain Captures the
Holyhead Golf Club Captain, Keith Thompson, mastered
the horrific weather conditions when the competition was played at
Bull Bay G C.
Heavy rain showers and a strong gale
force wind made scoring conditions difficult but the winner recorded
38 stableford points playing off a handicap of 19 to beat his nearest
rival by ten clear points.
The final event of the season, the
President's Trophy, an 18 hole stableford competition, will be played
at the Bull Bay G C this Sunday, October 1st - details of the order of
play can be seen below.
Twelve handicapped Mark Grey of the Holyhead
G C is the 2017 A G U Seniors Champion but it needed a card play off
with fellow Holyhead members John Falloon and Tony Chorley after the
three competitors returned nett scores of 69.
The Holyhead club won the team Championship
too - making the most of home advantage their C team returned a best
five out of six nett team total of 369, three shots ahead of Holyhead

| Holyhead G C Capture the Rawlinson Shield
Holyhead G C's team won the inter club
Seniors team competition for the Rawlinson Shield when the final round
was played at the Henllys G C Beaumaris.
The host club returned the best total on the
day - their leading six stableford scores totalling 195 points with
team member Vic Wallace returning the best individual score with 38
points playing off a handicap of 18.
